National Bridge Builders (from Kernersville, NC) replaced a single-lane, low-water bridge on Route 620 (Smith Creek Rd) in Shenandoah County. The old bridge was built in 1932. The new bridge is two-lanes and was positioned slightly upstream from the old bridge to improve roadway alignment. Class 2 Rip Rap was used for bank stabilization and erosion control on this project. RDC was used as a fill/subgrade material. 21B was used as a road base.
